Struggling to lose weight around your middle?
Scientists believe that exercise may not be enough to tone your tum.

Dr Saleyha Ahsan carried out an experiment on overweight volunteers to see which portion sizes were best for slimmers.

And apparently, researchers saw participants shed an inch of belly fat after they cut their calorie intake.

First of all, it's important to remember that "abs are made in the kitchen," as the saying goes. While exercise is important, it's equally important to pay attention to what you're eating.

One tip from the study mentioned in this article is to focus on portion control. Try measuring out your food using your hands - for example, a serving of carbs should be about the size of your fist.

Another helpful tip is to choose low-calorie snacks. The article suggests 10 snacks under 100 calories, but you could also try things like carrot sticks, apple slices, or rice cakes.

When it comes to meals, aim for a balance of protein, carbs, and veggies. Two servings of protein per day (about the size of your palm) should be plenty, along with three servings of carbs and two handfuls of veggies.
